Easy Fried Green Tomatoes

  1. Place enough oil in frying pan so the tomatoe slices float, and heat oil to frying temp.
  2. Crack 1-2 eggs into a shallow bowl. Add a splash of milk and salt & peper and mix.
  3. In another shallow bowl have your flour. I like to add a spoon full of bread crumbs to this for added flavor.
  4. Slice the tomatoes (normal thickness) and dip them in the egg mixture. Then coat them with the flour, and place in the frying pan once it's warm enough.
  5. You want them at least golden brown. Turn them as needed.
  6. When you take them out, place them on a strainer to cool. This prevents them from getting to 'soggy'.
  7. Serve with Ranch dressing.
  8. I've read that you can also cook mildly ripe tomatoes also. I have not tried those yet. Make sure they are not too ripe, or they are reported to fall apart.
