Poppy Seed Bread
- Batter:
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cup oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoon butter flavoring
- 3 cup + 2 tablespoon flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
- Glaze:
- 1/2 teaspoon butter flavoring
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 3/4 cup sugar
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease two loaf pans.
- Beat eggs in a large mixing bowl. Add in sugar, milk, oil, and flavorings, mixing to combine. Mix flour, salt, and baking powder in separate bowl, then add into moist ingredient, mixing to combine. Stir in poppy seeds. Pour into prepared pans, bake for 1 hour, or until tester comes out clean.
- To make glaze, combine all glaze ingredients over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
- When bread comes out of the oven, let cool for ten minutes in pans, and then pour glaze over top. Cool completely in pans.
