Chocolate Syrup Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0
  2. Cake:
  3. In a large bowl cream together butter, sugar and eggs with mixer. Add chocolate syrup and vanilla. In a separate bowl mix dry ingredients together; flour, baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredients to wet and beat well.
  4. Pour batter into greased and floured 3 quart baking pan (9x13"). Bake for 30 min.
  5. Topping: (begin preparing about 10 min before cake is done.)
  6. In a saucepan bring butter, sugar and milk to a rolling boil (stir only once). Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips until melted and smooth--no lumps. Gently pour over hot cake. Let the liquid topping spread and settle. It will harden to a shiny smooth surface.
