Grilled Tuna In Tomato Sauce With Linguine
- 2 large tuna steaks (if steaks are small like ahi, use 3)
- extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves chopped garlic
- 2 large cans whole tomatoes
- 4 basil leaves( cut up)
- 2 tablespoons capers
- salt and pepper
- a shake of red pepper flakes
- grated fresh hard cheese if desired
- grill tuna and cut up into bite sized pieces.
- bring large pot of salted water to a boil
- open cans of tomatoes in a large bowl and squeeze through fingers ( cut off hard ends if they are present)
- In large saute pan add about 2 tablespoons olive oil,heat and add garlic.
- Add tomatoes salt and pepper and basil leaves
- add capers
- shake of red pepper flakes
- simmer for 30 minutes
- add tuna
- cook another 10 minutes
- boil pasta
- drain and add directly to tuna and sauce
- add cheese and mangia!
