D'Mn Good Chile
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 lb. ground turkey
- 28 ounce can of crushed tomatoes
- 6 ounce can of tomato paste
- 2 cloves crushed garlic
- 1 finely chopped red pepper
- 2 finely chopped jalopena peppers (without seeds to reduce kick if desired)
- 2/3 cup of beef broth
- 1/3 cup of dry red wine
- 2 teaspoons of cumin
- 1/4 large onion finely chopped
- 10 ounces of cannellini red kidney beans-rinsed
- 1/4 cup barbeque sauce
- 1 cup of beer
- 4 tea spoons of ground sea salt
- 2 teaspoons of pepper
- 1/2 cup low fat crumpled feta cheese
- 4 ounces of red pepper bread spreand or 1 small red pepper blended in processor with splash of olive oil and splash of balsalmic vinegar
- 6 basil leaves finely chopped
- In well oiled large skillet under high heat, stir fry beef and turkey. Drain oil/fat. combine meat with all other ingredients into large slow cooker. Gently mix. Cook for two hours on high...two more hours on low.
- When serving, garnish bowls with dollup of reduced fat sour cream.
