Chocolate Chip Squares(Microwave)
- 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2/3 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 (6 oz.) bag chocolate chips
- Cream butter and vanilla.
- Add brown sugar gradually, creaming until fluffy.
- Add egg and beat thoroughly.
- Blend flour, baking powder and salt.
- Stir into creamed mixture.
- Stir in half of the chocolate chips.
- Turn into an ungreased 1 1/2-quart glass baking dish.
- Top with remaining chocolate chips.
- Cook, uncovered, in microwave oven for 7 to 8 minutes at Medium-high or until edges begin to pull away from the sides of the dish; rotate dish one-quarter turn once.
- Set dish on flat surface.
- Cool, then cut into squares.
- Makes about 1 dozen.
