Chocolate Chip Squares(Microwave)

• 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or margarine
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 2/3 c. brown sugar, packed
• 1 egg
• 1 1/4 c. flour
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• 1 (6 oz.) bag chocolate chips

1. Cream butter and vanilla.
2. Add brown sugar gradually, creaming until fluffy.
3. Add egg and beat thoroughly.
4. Blend flour, baking powder and salt.
5. Stir into creamed mixture.
6. Stir in half of the chocolate chips.
7. Turn into an ungreased 1 1/2-quart glass baking dish.
8. Top with remaining chocolate chips.
9. Cook, uncovered, in microwave oven for 7 to 8 minutes at Medium-high or until edges begin to pull away from the sides of the dish; rotate dish one-quarter turn once.
10. Set dish on flat surface.
11. Cool, then cut into squares.
12. Makes about 1 dozen.
