Candy Cane Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Cream butter, shortening, powdered sugar, egg & extracts.
  3. Blend in flour & salt, then divide dough in half. Blend food coloring in one half.
  4. Shape 1 tsp of dough from each half in 4 in. ropes. Lay side by side, pinch ends together, and lightly twist into candy cane shape.
  5. Place on un-greased cookie sheet. Bake about 9 min. or until set and lightly browned on bottom.
  6. Sprinkle with candy mixture immediately while still hot.
