Granola
- A 5 cups oats
- 1 cup pecan pieces
- 1 cup sliced almonds
- 3/4 cup coconut
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- B 1/2 cup OJ
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 6 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- C 2 tsp vanilla
- D 2 cups assorted dried fruit (I add more than that)
- raisins, cut up apricots, cranberries, etc.
- Mix "A" together in a large bowl
- Bring all "B" to a boil, remove from heat, cool slightly and add "C" (if you add C too soon, it will evaporate in the heat of the boil). Then drizzle and toss this mixture thoroughly through "A"
- Spread on 2 cookie sheets and cook at 300 degrees, for 50 minutes (approx.), stirring occasionally
- Add "D" to the mixture 10 minutes before the end of cooking time
