Date And Nut Cake(Pudding)

  1. Pour soda mixture over dates.
  2. Let cool.
  3. Cream butter and sugar; add egg, salt and vanilla.
  4. Next add dates and their liquid and nuts.
  5. Sift flour with cream of tartar and beat this in last. Add cherries.
  6. The batter will be quite thin.
  7. Pour into greased glass baking dish; bake at 300u0b0 for an hour or until done.
  8. Serve in sherbet glasses with a spoonful of whipped cream or any cake sauce.
