Spicy Lemon Lime Shrimp
- 6 large cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp fresh ginger
- 2 large shallots
- 2 green chilies
- 12 stems fresh cilantro
- 3-4 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp mustard seed
- juice of one lemon
- juice of one lime
- 1 lb peeled and deveined shrimp
- 4-8 skewers, depending on the size of the shrimp
- Cut the garlic, ginger, shallots, green chilies, and cilantro into pieces. Throw them all into a food processor with the olive oil and grind to a paste.
- Move the paste to a medium-sized bowl and add the red chili powder, salt, mustard seed, and lemon and lime juices. Stir to mix.
- Mix the shrimp into the paste and allow to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 90 minutes.
- After marinating, thread shrimp onto skewers and grill over medium heat until shrimp are cooked through and bits of garlic and ginger begin to brown.
- For less heat, omit the green chilies.
