Farm Fresh Apple Crisp

  1. 1) Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
  2. 2) Peel, core and slice apples into a bowl. Toss with sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Put into 10" buttered pie plate. Use spatula to transfer all of the sugar and juice.
  3. 3) Blend flour, sugar, butter and salt until crumbly. I use a pastry blender. A fork works too. add nuts and mix. Pat onto apples. Bake 45 minutes-1 hour on a pan or pie server so that if the juices run the don't get on to the oven. It may take longer than an hour--you are looking for the apples to be soft and t he topping to be nicely brown.
