Heavenly Torte
- 1/2 pkg. yellow cake mix
- 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, at room temperature
- 2 c. milk, at room temperature
- 1 pkg. (6 oz.) instant vanilla pudding
- 1 can crushed pineapple, well drained
- 1 carton (8 oz.) whipped topping
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- Prepare cake mix according to package directions, using half of required ingredients.
- Pour into 9 x 13 greased and floured pan. Bake at 350u0b0 for 18 to 20 minutes.
- Cool.
- Beat together cream cheese and milk, adding milk gradually.
- When smooth, add pudding and continue beating until it begins to thicken.
- Spread on top of the cooled cake.
- Sprinkle pineapple over top of pudding mixture. Spread whipped topping over all.
- Top with nuts.
- Cover and chill 24 to 48 hours.
- Serves 15; freezes beautifully.
- Other half of cake mix can be used for cupcakes or to make another torte.
