Turkey Dressing - Southern
- 1 10-inch pan cornbread
- 1 equal amount white bread
- 3 c. chopped onion
- 3 c. chopped celery
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sage
- 1 Tbsp. poultry seasoning
- 1 stock from boiling giblets in 1 1/2 qt. water with onion and celery (save veggies and giblets for gravy)
- Saute 3 cups chopped onions and 3 cups chopped celery; set aside.
- Boil giblets from turkey in 1 1/2 quarts water with 1 onion and 1 cup celery.
- Crumble breads and use enough of stock to soften.
- Add onion and celery (2 cups each) and dry ingredients to crumble.
- Beat 2 eggs and add.
- Add 2 boiled eggs if desired.
- Put in a bit more broth, place in pans sprayed with Pam and bake at 350u0b0 until top is crunchy.
