Oatmeal-Molasses-Marmalade Bread

  1. Soak oats in boiling water for 15 minutes.
  2. Pour yeast into 1/3 cup hot water (105u0b0 to 115u0b0).
  3. Let sit for a few minutes.
  4. Add butter and salt to oatmeal mixture.
  5. Add molasses and orange marmalade.
  6. Stir yeast and add.
  7. Mix in 4 cups flour, one at a time.
  8. Knead in the last 2 cups.
  9. Place in bowl and let rise in a warm spot until doubled.
  10. Cut down and place in 2 greased loaf pans and let rise until 1-inch above pans.
  11. Bake on lowest rack of oven at 325u0b0 for 50 minutes.
  12. Immediately remove from pans, place on rack and butter crust.
