Grandmother Brown'S Vegetable Soup

  1. Cook corn and tomatoes separate.
  2. When done, mix together. Cook onions, peppers, lima beans, okra, carrots, green peas and hot pepper together.
  3. When done mix all together.
  4. Add salt and sugar.
  5. Simmer 20 minutes and seal in sterilized jars.
  6. When you decide to eat soup, cook 4 or 5 potatoes and 2 onions until tender.
  7. Add a quart of canned soup and a pint of canned tomatoes. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 20 minutes.
  8. Season as desired.
  9. Bacon or fatback seasoning is very good.
