Grampa'S Gingies

  1. In a food processor, cream crisco, add sugar gradually and cream thoroughly. Blend in mollases.
  2. Sift flour with spices and salt. Stir 1/2 into molasses mixture alternating with the 1/4 cup water. Mix last of flour in by hand.
  3. Dissolve baking soda in 1 1/2 Tablespoons water and blend in dough.
  4. Chill dough, then roll out 1/2 inch thick on lightly floured board. Form "Gingies" with 2 1/2 inch cookie cutter.
  5. Place gingies far apart on greased baking sheet. Bake 15-18 minutes in a moderate (350) oven. Do not overbake. Frost, serve, enjoy!
