Bbq Turkey
- 1 TURKEY 14 TO 20 LBS
- 4 ORANGES
- 2 HEADS OF GARLIC
- 3 MED SIZED SWEET ONIONS
- 1 LEMON
- 4 APPLES
- 1 CUP EVOL
- 8 LARGE YAMS
- 2 TBS KOSHER SALT
- 2 TBS GARLIC POWDER
- 1 TB BLACK PEPPER
- 1/4 CUP HONEY
- 1/3 CUP APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
- 2 TBS MONTREAL CHICKEN SEASONING
- 1 TB OREGANO
- 1 TB PARSLEY
- 1/2 CUP LIGHT BEER
- PREHEAT BBQ GRILL TO 500 DEGREES.CUT UP ORANGES, APPLES, LEMON,ONIONS AND GARLIC PLACE INSIDE TURKEY WHICH HAS BEEN SEASONED WITH THE SALT, PEPPER, OREGANO, MONTREAL CHICKEN SEASONING AND PARSLEY ON THE INSIDE AND OUT.MIX THE HONEY,APPLE CIDER VINEGAR,OLIVE OIL AND BEER WHICH WILL BE USED TO COAT THE TURKEY.KEEP 1/2 OF THIS MIXURE FOR BASTING THE TURKEY DURING THE SIX HOUR COOKING PROCESS.PLACE THE PREPARED TURKEY ON A DISPOSABLE BACKING TRAY. SPRAY THE TURKEY WITH CANOLA OIL AND PLACE IN THE BBQ GRILL FOR 1 HOUR AT 500 DEGREES. REDUCE BBQ TEMP TO 200 DEGREES DURING THE REMAINING COOKING TIME OF 5 HOURS BASTING THE TURKEY AS NEEDED.WRAP THE 8 SWEET POTATOES IN ALUM FOIL AND PLACE IN BBQ GRILL DURING THE LAST 2 HRS OF COOKING. REMOVE THE POTATOES WHEN THEY ARE SOFT TO THE TOUCH. REMOVE THE TURKEY AND LET IT REST FOR 1/2 HR BEFORE CARVING IT.
