Shirley'S Meatloaf With Ketchup Sauce
- Meatloaf:
- 1.5 lbs hamburger
- 1 C. breadcrumbs
- 1/2 C. milk
- 1/4 C. grated onion
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp sage
- 1 egg
- 3 Tbsp ketchup
- Sauce:
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/4 C. ketchup
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- Meatloaf:
- 1. Combine milk and breadcrumbs.
- 2. Add slightly beaten egg and all of the meatloaf ingredients to the hamburger - stir in.
- 3. Form meat in an oblong half moon paddy on a piece of wax paper.
- 4. Create a small trough(s) on top of the meatloaf for the sauce.
- Sauce:
- 1. Mix sauce ingredients together; spread over meatloaf in the troughs or ridges.
- 2. Cook at 350 degrees for one hour (1 loaf); or 45 minutes for two loaves.
