Pinto Beans
- 2 cups DRY PINTO BEANS
- 8 cups WATER
- 2 tablespoons PINTO BEAN SEASONING
- 2 teaspoons VEGETABLE OIL
- Pinto Bean Seasoning
- 10 Tablespoons SALT
- 2 Tablespoons SUGAR
- 4 Tablespoons ONION POWDER
- 4 Tablespoons GARLIC POWDER
- 2 Tablespoons POWDERED CUMIN
- 2 Tablespoons GROUND BLACK PEPPER
- 1 Tablespoon POWDERED MEXICAN OREGANO
- 1 Tablespoon POWDERED ANCHO CHILI PEPPER
- Spread beans out over a flat surface and inspect carefully and remove anything that is not a bean. Place beans in a 4 quart pot (or larger) and wash with water, agitating with hand and then draining. Repeat this step until the water drains clear (about three times). Add water and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for two hours. Add Pinto Bean Seasoning and oil and then simmer for 30 minutes longer.
