Choco-Peanut Butter Bars

• 1/2 c. shortening
• 1/2 c. peanut butter
• 1/2 c. granulated sugar
• 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
• 1 egg
• 2 tsp. water
• 1 1/4 c. flour
• 3/4 tsp. soda
• 1/2 tsp. baking powder
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
• 1/2 c. chopped peanuts

1. Heat oven to 375u0b0.
2. Grease oblong pan, 13 x 9 x 2-inches.
3. Mix shortening, peanuttutter,
4. sugars and egg.
5. Stir in water, flour, soda, baking powder, salt and 6 ounces chocolate morsels. Spread
6. in pan.
7. Bake about 20 minutes.
8. Remove from oven; immediately sprinkle remaining chocolate morsels evenly over baked
9. layer.
10. Place
11. baking sheet over pan so contained heat will
12. soften morsels.
13. Spread softened chocolate evenly; sprinkle with peanuts.
14. Cut into bars, about 3 x 1-inch.
