Pffeunesser( Peppernuts

  1. 1. Beat together well 2egg yolks and 1cup of sugar
  2. 2. In a separate bowl with clean beaters beat egg whites until stiff; fold into egg yolk and sugar mixture
  3. 3. Stir in cinnamon, cloves,cardamom,white pepper, 1/3 cup citron.and grated lemon peel
  4. 4 Add 2 cups of flour
  5. 5 Mix well and knead slightly on a floured board. Form into little balls (size of a walnut) Place on ungreased cookie sheet
  6. 6.Bake in moderate oven 375F 15 minutes or until lightly brown
  7. 7 Cool. Store in air tight container
  8. Can keep for 3-5 months. That is if they last that long
