Carmel Apple Pie Triffle
- 1 Apple Pie (I use Mrs. Smith's)
- 1 bag of caramels
- 1/2 stick of butter or margarine
- 1 cup pecan pieces
- 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese
- 1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. McCormick Vanilla
- flavoring
- 1 medium tub of Cool Whip
- Bake Apple Pie according to directions.Put caramels into a double broiler with the 1/2 stick butter over medium heat and stir often until melted. Pour caramels over Apple Pie that has been transferred to a Triffle bowl and broken into pieces with a fork. Add the 3/4 cup pecan pieces to mixture and stir. Mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and sour cream in a bowl until well blended and add to the apple pie mixture.
- Top with the Cook Whip and garnish with remaining 1/4 cup of pecans.
