- 1 - tub (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread or your favorite savory cheese spread, at room temperature
- 2 - boxes OSCAR MAYER Ready to Serve Bacon
- 12 - regular sliced white, wheat, potato or your favorite bread, crust removed
- No-stick cooking spray
- Toothpicks
- Sheet pans or Disposable ridged aluminum foil pans
- Optional: *Iceberg, Romaine or your favorite crisp lettuce
- Preparation:
- Remove crust from bread.
- Cut each slice of bread in half and flatten with the palm of your hand.
- Spread the center of each flattened piece of bread with cream cheese spread.
- Roll bread (cream cheese spread inside) to form the bite and then wrap each rolled bite down the middle firmly with one slice of ready to serve bacon.
- Secure the end of the bacon with a toothpick inserted into each bite.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Very lightly coat sheet pan(s) with no-stick cooking spray and place Cheesy Bacon Bites on pan(s). Bake until bacon is crisp 8 to 14 minutes. Remove crisp bites from sheet pan(s), arrange on platter and serve immediately.
- Watch these as they bake since oven cooking temperatures vary.
- Presentation:
- *A 'show stopper' presentation is making little lettuce cups and placing each bite into its own lettuce cup to serve. The cold lettuce and the hot cheesy bite are a perfect mix.
- Make Ahead:
- Bites can be assembled, covered tightly and stored in the refrigerator up to a day ahead. Bring to room temperature before baking.
