Applesauce Cake
- 3 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 level tsp. soda
- 1 level tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 level tsp. cloves
- 1/2 level tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 level tsp. allspice
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. unsweetened applesauce
- 3/4 c. cooking oil
- 1 c. seedless raisins
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- Reserve 1/4 cup flour to dredge walnuts and raisins.
- Sift all dry ingredients into large bowl.
- Make a well in sifted dry ingredients.
- Add applesauce, oil and eggs; mix.
- Dredge raisins and walnuts with 1/4 cup flour.
- Add to cake mixture.
- Bake in well-greased and floured angel food cake pan at 325u0b0 for first 20 minutes and at 350u0b0 the last 40 minutes.
- Let cool in pan before removing.
