Mud Pie

  1. Heat oven to 325u0b0.
  2. Grease a round 8-inch pan or pie plate with shortening.
  3. Mix sugar, margarine, vanilla, salt, flour, eggs and cocoa in a medium bowl with wooden spoon.
  4. Stir in nuts.
  5. Pour into pan.
  6. Bake until wooden pick inserted comes out clean, about 25 minutes.
  7. Immediately prick holes in pie with pick; spread fudge sauce over top.
  8. Cool completely. Beat the whipping cream and powdered sugar
  9. in a small bowl until stiff. Drizzle fudge sauce on top.
  10. Store in refrigerator.
