Meaty Alfredo Pasta

  1. Place a large pot of water over high heat to bring to a boil.
  2. Put oven on broil. Cut plum tomatoes in half, sprinkle with olive oil, salt and pepper and broil for 10 minutes. Let cool slightly and cut up.
  3. As water is coming to a boil: brown the beef and onion in a large saute pan in the oil until thoroughly cooked. Season with salt and pepper when almost done. Drain off fat if necessary.
  4. Place the noodles in the boiling water and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Now empty the Alfredo jar into saute pan with meat, add tomatoes and basil and heat.
  6. When noodles are al dente add them to the meat mixture. Stir and serve.
