Red Velvet Cake (Mom)
- 21/2 cups flour 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 oz red food color
- 1 cup cooking oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 teasp of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teasp salt
- Cream sugar and oil, add eggs, beat well. add vinegar and food coloring mix well.
- Sift dry ingredients then add flour & dry ingredients,alternately with buttermilk,add vanilla. beat well.
- bake 350 degrees for 25-30 mins. Use 2-9 inch layer round pan.
- Frosting.
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 8 oz of cream cheese
- 1 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 box powered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Cream butter and cream cheese, add vanilla, mix well, add nuts. Frost cooled cake
