Laid Back Barbecued Chicken
- 1 large jar traditional barbecue sauce
- 1 lb of chicken, pork or beef even lamb chops (yes)
- 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1 table spoon ground black pepper
- 1 medium onion
- 3 slices hot peppers
- for each piece of meat.
- garnish with parsley
- wash meat, place meat in baking pan with half of the onions placed on the bottom of the pan.
- place the chicken directly on top of the onions.
- place the remaining onions on top of the chicken.
- season with seasoning salt and black pepper.
- if you prefer hot and spicy: place 2-3 hot peppers on top of the meat.
- add 1/2 of the jar of barbecue sauce. reserve the other for the second half of the cooking time.
- bake covered with foil on 250 degrees for 2 hours (for 1 lb)
- add 20 minutes for each additional lb.
- it must cook slowly.
- after the first two hours remove foil and place the remaining sauce over meat.
- back uncovered.
- turn up the oven to 350 degrees for 30 minutes
- let stand for ten minutes of more and enjoy.
