Chipotle Meatloaf Burgers
- For the Burgers:
- 2 Lbs 97 % lean ground beef
- 1/4 cup finely grated carrot
- 1 small rib celery finely diced
- 1 medium onion finely diced
- 4 chipolte chiles in adobo sauce chopped into small pieces
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp McCormick spicy montreal steak seasoning
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 6 slices chipotle cheddar cheese (I prefer Cabot Vermont sharp cheddar with chipotles)
- 6 large whole wheat hamburger buns
- 6 silces of tomato
- 6 pieces romaine lettuce
- 6 slices onion
- For the Grilling Sauce:
- In a small bowl combine 1/2 cup A-1 Steak Sauce, 1/4 cup Sutter Home Merlot and 1 Tbsp. of adobo sauce from canned chipotles.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, carrot, celery, onion, chiles, cumin, montreal steak seasoning, salt, and pepper. Divide into six equal portions and shape mixture into 6 patties.
- Rub the grill rack with a rolled paper towel that has been dipped in oil. Place patties on grill, grill patties over medium-hot coals until cooked through, about 5 minutes each side. After you've flipped the patties once, brush with grilling sauce. During the last minute of cooking, top each burger with a slice of cheese.
- Place patties on bun bottoms and top with 1 slice of tomato, 1 piece of romaine lettuce and one slice of onion then place bun tops on top.
