Ohio Swiss Cheese Chops(An Amish Recipe)
- 3 c. Ohio Swiss cheese (sharp, aged preferred), shredded
- 1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, chopped
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) cream of celery soup (undiluted)
- 2 tsp. dried minced onion or to taste
- 2 Tbsp. minced parsley (fresh or dried)
- 3 tsp. horseradish mustard
- 1 tsp. seasoning salt
- 3 c. fine dried bread crumbs (plain or seasoned)
- Combine ingredients in order listed, except for 1 1/2 cups crumbs.
- Shape into "chops" about 2/3 inch thick.
- Coat with reserved crumbs on both sides.
- Fry in nonstick skillet, using margarine or oil, on low heat until golden brown on both sides. These can be shaped and frozen for later use.
- Makes 10 servings.
