Mother'S Fresh Apple Cake

  1. 1. Cut up apples and set aside
  2. 2. Measure salad oil into mixing bowl.
  3. 3. Add sugar, eggs, vanilla and mix well at low speed until creamy smooth.
  4. 4. Sift flour and measure.
  5. 5. Sift again with salt, soda, and baking powder.
  6. 6. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture in small amounts.
  7. 7. Beat well after each addition.
  8. 8. When batter becomes stiff, remove beaters & finish mixing by hand.
  9. 9. Fold in chopped nuts and apples last. Mix well.
  10. 10. For layers - 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
  11. Tube pan - start at 300 degrees for 30 minutes then 250 for 2 hours or until done.
