Janelle'S Famous Peach Cobbler
- One box ready made pie crust
- 6 cups fresh peaches
- 2 tbsp on flour
- 3/4 cups sugar (yes, that's it!)
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp almond extract (this is the secret ingrdient)
- heavy whipping cream (optional)
- 1) Heat oven to 425 degrees. Place pie crust in ungreased dish
- 2) In large bowl, mix all other ingredients (if you use canned peaches, I only use the juice from one can)
- 3) Pour in peaches, cover with layer of crust and cut slits in upper crust
- 4) Use basting brush to spread thin layer of heavy whipping or extra juice from the peaches
- 5) sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon on the top of the brushed cream
- 6) Bake for about 45 mins to an hour, remove when crust is golden
