Mrs. Fosters Cake Recipe

• All ingredients must be room temp
• Cake:
• 4 sticks unsalted butter
• 1 heaping T Crisco, creamed
• 6 C sugar
• 1 dozen eggs
• 6 C cake flour
• 1 C sour cream
• 1 C whipping cream
• 2 T vanilla or almond extract
• Icing:
• 2 sticks unsalted butter
• 4 C shifted powdered sugar
• 1 T vanilla or almond extract

1. 1. Combine butter and crisco and cream it
2. 2. Add sugar
3. 3. Add eggs slowly, one at a time and beat each well
4. 4. Sift flour then re-measure
5. 5. Add sour cream and whipping cream, slowly alternating with the flour
6. 6. Add vanilla
7. 7. Grease round take pans (3" tall and 8-9" diameter), cut parchement paper rounds and sides and flour and grease them
8. 8. Fill pans a little more than 1/2 full
9. 9. Bake at 305 for 1hr 10mins to 1hr 20mins. When you stick a skewer in it should not come out clean. it should have wet clumps on it
