Apple Crisp
- 4 lbs. firm apples (about 12)
- 1 tsp grated orange zest
- 1 tsp grated lemon zest
- 2 Tbs orange juice
- 2 Tbs lemon juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- Topping:
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup oats
- 2 sticks butter, diced
- Preheat over to 350. Peel, core and cut apples into large chunks. Place them in a large bowl and add zest, juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour into a 9x12x2" oval baking dish.
- To make the topping, combine flour, sugars, salt, oats and butter. Mix on low setting for 1 minute until large crumbles form. Sprinkle the topping over the apples, covering completely.
- Place dish on a sheet pan and bake 50-60 minutes, until top is browned and fruit is bubbly.
