Breakfast Sausage Casserole
- 6 slices bread
- 1 lb. ground sausage
- 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 4 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
- 6 eggs
- 2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 c. shredded mild Cheddar cheese
- Lightly grease 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.
- Tear bread into bite-sized pieces.
- Place in bottom of dish.
- Brown sausage; add onion and pepper.
- Cook until tender and meat is done.
- Drain and set aside.
- Mix eggs, milk and seasonings.
- Beat well.
- Sprinkle sausage mixture over bread pieces.
- Top with cheese; pour egg/milk mixture over all.
- Cover and refrigerate at least 8 to 10 hours. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Bake 30 to 40 minutes, uncovered, or until puffy or eggs are set.
