Beer And Burbon Brats
- 2 bottles of dark beer (Guiness Draught prefered)
- 1 shot Premier Burbon
- 1 whole Onion
- 4 minced cloves of garlic
- For best results, let the beer sit opened on a counter top for a few hours to get flat. Put beer into a large pot, and bring to a boil, while boiling add shot of burbon and let alcohol cook off. You usually can tell this by sticking your head into the steam, and if it clears your sinuses there is still a good amount of alcohol in the pot. Once the alcohol is cooked off, reduce heat to a simmer and add onion and garlic. Let the mixture sit for 10-20 minutes and then add brats. WARNING do not add the brats to boiling water, they will burst! Keep brats in mixture until they turn grey and are about half cooked, then place on hot grill and finish cooking. Also could take the onions out for a nice side for the brats themselvs.
