Best Quiche Ever
- 1 Pie Shell
- 2 cups Diced Ham
- 3 cups Emmental Cheese Shredded, divided
- 3 Shallots Diced
- 8 Eggs
- 1/2 cup Cream
- 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt, fresh ground
- 3/4 teaspoon Black Pepper, fresh ground
- 3/4 cup Broccoli Florets, steamed
- Make pastry using Nana's Pastry recipe, roll out, and make a 9" pie shell
- Sprinkle a couple of handfuls of shredded Emmental cheese in bottom of pie shell
- Add half of the diced ham
- Saute chopped shallots
- Sprinkle broccoli over ham and shallots
- Add remainder of diced ham
- Add remainder of shallots
- Sprinkle some more shredded Emmental on top
- Beat together eggs, cream, salt and pepper, and remainder of Emmental
- Pour over contents of pie shell
- Bake at 425 F, on middle shelf of oven, for 15 minutes
- Lower heat to 375F and continue to cook for 25 min, or until centre is dry when a knife is inserted.
