Peg'S Barbecued Baked Beans
- 1/2 lb. bacon, diced, dried and drained
- 1/2 lb. ground chuck
- 1 large onion, chopped and sauteed
- 1 1/2 c. catsup (Del Monte)
- 2 1/4 Tbsp. vinegar (cider)
- 1/2 c. brown sugar*
- 2 (15 oz.) cans pork and beans
- 1 (16 oz.) kidney beans (Joan of Arc)
- 1 (16 oz.) can butter beans (large limas)
- 1 (8 oz.) can garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- dash of Tabasco sauce to taste
- 3 Tbsp. crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- Mix bacon, ground chuck and sauteed onion. Blend in catsup, vinegar and brown sugar (*or use 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup molasses). Stir in remaining ingredients and mix well. Bake 45 to 55 minutes in a 350u0b0 oven or 2 to 3 hours in a crock-pot. Serves several.
