Hanukkah Donuts

  1. 1. Mix all ingredients, in large bowl, but the oil and powdered sugar. Mixture will be soft.
  2. 2. Heat oil until a 1" cube of bread is golden brown in about a minute.
  3. 3. Place 1 T. dough in hot oil for 3-5 minutes, turning over until golden brown. (Resist making the doughnuts too large as they will be uncooked in the middle.)
  4. Remove and drain on layers of newspaper or open paper bags covered with a few layers of paper towels.
  5. 4. Place in paper bag with powdered sugar and shake to coat.
  6. 5. Arrange on platter serve warm.
  7. HINT:
  8. *Loosely cover dougnuts with papertowels to avoid condensation if you are delivering.
  9. *If recipe is doubled yield is 60 donuts.
  10. * Okay to store extra dough, covered and refridgerated, to use the next day.
