Egg And Sweet Soy Ramen
- 1 pack ramen noodles - Oriental flavor
- 1 egg
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced
- 2-3 tbsp canola oil
- Sesame oil
- Sesame seeds
- Sweet soy sauce - heat the following ingredients until they have all dissolved and allow to cool:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp red chili flakes
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 1/2 tbsp white sugart/2 tsp grated fresh ginger
- Cook the ramen according to the directions. Make sure not to overcook them...
- While the ramen is cooking, add the canola oil to a non-stick skillet or wok and give it 2 shakes of sesame oil and heat on medium-high.
- Crack the egg into the hot oil. When the white starts to turn opaque, start flipping the hot oil onto the egg with a spatula. This will cause the white to puff up, giving the sweet soy places to hide and heat the yoke just slightly. When the egg is almost done, drizzle a little sweet soy sauce onto the egg. Cook for about 30-40 more seconds, then drain on a paper towel. Never flip the egg!
- Drain all but 2 or 3 tbsp of water from the ramen noodles and add half of the oriental seasoning packet. Stir.
- Place the noodles in a bowl, top with the egg, drizzle with a little more sweet soy (reserving any leftover sauce in the refrigerator for next time), and finish with sesame seeds and green onion. Mix the runny yoke into the noodles and enjoy!
