Taco Pie
- 1 or 2 pie crusts
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 3/4 c. onion bits
- 1 pkg. taco seasoning
- 1 can refried beans (8 oz.)
- 1 jar taco sauce (8 oz.)
- 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
- shredded lettuce
- chopped tomatoes
- Preheat oven and baking sheet to 400u0b0, partially baking crust for 10 minutes.
- Cool; reduce oven temperature to 350u0b0.
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef and onion; drain fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning mix.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine refried beans and 1/2 cup taco sauce.
- For deep dish crust, layer one-half of the seasoned meat mixture in bottom of pie crust and top with one-half of refried beans.
- Repeat layers.
- For regular crust, place one-half of the seasoned meat mixture in bottom of crust and each with one-half of refried beans.
- Sprinkle cheese on top; bake 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven; cool 10 minutes.
- Top with lettuce, tomatoes and remaining taco seasoning.
- Makes six servings; 25 minutes to prepare and 35 minutes baking time.
- Cool time:
- 10 minutes.
