Beefy Jalapeno Corn Bread

  1. Combine corn meal, flour, milk, eggs, salt, soda, corn and jalapeno peppers in a bowl; mix and set aside.
  2. Saute ground beef, onion and bell pepper until lightly browned; drain thoroughly and set aside.
  3. Thoroughly grease a 10 1/2-inch iron skillet.
  4. Pour half of corn meal batter into skillet.
  5. Sprinkle evenly with beef mixture, then cheese.
  6. Pour remaining batter over top.
  7. Bake at 350u0b0 for 50 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
