Mouthwatering Molasses Cookies

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, add the sugar to the melted butter and beat until well mixed.
  2. 2. Beat in the egg and molasses.
  3. 3. Sift together dry ingredients.
  4. 4. Add dry ingredients to butter molasses mixture gradually and beat until well combined.
  5. 5. Chill at least 1-2 hours.
  6. 6. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  7. 7. Roll the chilled cookie dough into small walnut-sized balls. Roll the balls in the raw sugar and place 3 inches apart on greased or nonstick baking sheets.
  8. 8. Bake until set and just beginning to brown on edges, about 8-10 minutes. *Cook until tops are cracked all over, but still a bit gooey in center. *Do not overbake !!
  9. 9. Cool for 2-3 minutes on baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
