Pearl'S Pecan Drops
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter flavor Crisco
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 3/4 c. low-fat buttermilk
- 1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
- Heat oven to 375u0b0.
- Grease baking sheet with butter flavor Crisco.
- Combine sugar, Crisco and vanilla in a large bowl.
- Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until blended and crumbly. Combine flour, baking soda and cream of tartar.
- Add to creamed mixture alternating with buttermilk, mixing thoroughly after each addition at low speed. Stir in nuts with a spoon. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto baking sheet 2-inches apart.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet before removing to rack.
- Makes 5 dozen.
