Fokke De Jong Spaghetti Pizza
- 1 package (16 ounces) cooked spaghetti
- 2 (14 ounce) jars of spaghetti sauce
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 lb. Italian pork sausage
- 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup Ricotta cheese
- 1/3 cup of Parmesan cheese
- 1 package (6 ounces) diced pepperoni (Optional)
- 1 13x9 inch baking dish
- Step 1
- Heat oven to 350u0b0F. Cook spaghetti, following the directions on the package, drain and set aside in a large bowl. In a medium bowl, mix eggs, Ricotta cheese and Parmesan cheese, also set aside.
- Step 2
- In skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until done and drain. Slice sausage links evenly. Now toss cooked spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, and sliced sausage (Add diced pepperoni to mixture if you desire). Mix well.
- Step 3
- Spray a generous coating of cooking spray into a 13x9 inch baking dish then spread half of spaghetti mixture into the dish. Spoon out cheese mixture and spread on top of spaghetti layer evenly, then sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top of layer. Spread remaining spaghetti and top with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
- Step 4
- Bake uncovered for 30 to 35 minutes, or until bubbly. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Top with Parmesan cheese. Serve with a salad, or Italian garlic bread, or both.
- Cooking Tip:
- For those of you, who do not eat pork; feel free to substitute turkey sausage, or another meat of your choice.
