Mom'S Banana Bread
- Moms Banana bread
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3 ripe bananas - mashed
- 3 tablespoons sour milk (add 1/2 teaspoon of vinegar to milk to make it sour)
- Cream above ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Then continue to add and stir together the following ingredients.
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- dash of salt
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- Then continue to add and stir together the following ingredients.
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- dash of salt
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- Lightly grease a preferably 12" x 4" x 2 1/2" cake pan and pour in the mixture.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 45 minutes.
- The top will get browned and you can test to see if it's finished baking by putting a knife or toothpick in the center and if it pulls out clean it's finished!
- Let it cool for 5-10 minutes before removing from the pan.
