Marinated Tuna Appetizer
- Solid White Tuna, packed in water (7 oz)
- 1 English cucumber
- 1 thinly sliced red onion
- 1/3 bottle of dressing, either Catalina or a red french dressing
- crackers or crostini or thinly sliced rye bread
- DAY or TWO before serving:
- Drain tuna well, and break into chunks into a bowl
- Add thinly sliced english cucumber with skin intact
- Add thinly sliced red onion (or sweet white onion, such as mayan, or videllia
- pour in dressing until fairly moist
- Mix well, without breaking up chunks of tuna
- Mix occasionally during the day.
- To Serve: place in a pretty bowl on a plate.
- Surround with a variety of good quality crackers, crostini, and rye bread.
- Delicious...even people who don't like tuna love this dish.
- It is also great as a light summer lunch, served on a bed of butter lettuce.
