Baked Ziti
- 3 C uncooked ziti or small tube pasta
- 1-3/4 C meatless spaghetti sauce, divided (even the really cheap sauce works)
- 1 C (8 oz) small curd cottage cheese (any kind will do)
- 1-1/2 C (6 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 2 tsps dried parsley flakes
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Dash of pepper
- Cook pasta until al dente. In a large bowl, combine 3/4C spaghetti sauce, cottage cheese, 1 C mozzarella, egg, parsley, oregano, garlic powder and pepper. Drain pasta; stir into cheese mixture.
- In a greased 8 in square baking dish, spread at least 1/4 C of spaghetti sauce. Top with pasta mixture and remaining sauce and mozzarella. Cover and bake at 375 for 45 min. Uncover; bake 5-10 min longer or until bubbly.
- This can also be made in a slow cooker. Tastes even better!
