Easy Moist Pound Cake
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. margarine, softened
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs, at room temperature and beaten
- 3 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk, at room temperature
- 1 tsp. lemon extract
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. butter extract
- 1/4 tsp. almond extract
- Cream shortening and margarine until light.
- Add sugar gradually, beating until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix flour and baking powder in bowl. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in flavorings.
- Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
- Place in cold oven.
- Set oven temperature to 325u0b0.
- Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
- Cool in pan for several minutes.
- Invert onto serving plate.
- Yield:
- 16 servings.
