Beer Stew

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 275F.
  2. 2. Brown meat in frying pan.
  3. 3. Mix sugar and vinegar into the broth (or water).
  4. 4. Put all ingredients except the beer, and including the drippings from the frying pan, into a 6-quart casserole dish (or slow cooker).
  5. 5. Pour beer over top. Pour it slowly, so it doesn't froth up over the sides. Stir gently.
  6. 6. Cover and cook at 275F for at least four hours, or, for the crockpot, on low for 6 - 8 hours.
